Calatheas are know for their colorful leaf markings and make them popular houseplants and are a pet friendly plant.
You should place your Calathea where it will receive bright indirect light – you will notice its leaves move up and down with the sun! Be sure to avoid direct sunlight as this will scorch the delicate leaves.
Water every 1-2 weeks, allowing soil to dry out half way down between waterings, additionally the plant will love a regular misting to help to increase the humidity surrounding the plant – as they are native to rainforests. Rotate your plant periodically to ensure even growth on all sides and dust the leaves often so the plant can photosynthesize efficiently. When dusting the leaves, also take the opportunity to inspect the undersides and keep an eye out for pests.
